Ephesians 6:12 says, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world." Read that again. The rulers of the darkness. You are in a dark room. That is not a coincidence.

This is not a suggestion that every narcissist is demon possessed. But it is a recognition that the patterns of manipulation used by predators mirror spiritual oppression so closely that ignoring the spiritual dimension is ignoring half the battlefield.

The Patterns

Isolation from community. Destruction of identity. Distortion of reality. Bondage through fear. Erosion of hope. These are not just psychological tactics. These are the same patterns Scripture describes when it talks about spiritual captivity.

The predator may not be operating with spiritual intent, but the system they create functions identically to spiritual oppression. You are kept in darkness. You are separated from truth. You are told the door does not exist. And you are slowly destroyed from the inside out.

Faith as a Weapon

Your faith is not a weakness the predator can exploit. It is a weapon they cannot defeat. When they tell you the door does not exist, Scripture says "I am the door" (John 10:9). When they tell you there is no way out, Scripture says "I will make a way in the wilderness" (Isaiah 43:19). When they tell you that you are worthless, Scripture says you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

The predator operates in darkness because darkness is the only environment where their lies work. When you bring light, through truth, through faith, through community, the illusion collapses.
